Highland Bear Lodge is a Baronial styled luxury intimate Lodge set in the heart of the Highlands in 14 acres of woodland.

We offer AA 4 Star Gold B & B accommodation with a continental breakfast served in your room for your convenience.

Please note we have no cooking facilities in the lodge for guests.

Mark moved to the Highlands in 2015 having fallen in love with the area over many years and many visits enjoying walking, climbing and skiing.

Mark is also a Paragliding & Ski Instructor so can help you out with many activities in the area.

Mark has a deep love of Highland history and although not Scottish can advise on the best historical sites in the area from the Bronze age Corrimony Cairns, Urquhart Castle and Cawdor Castle ( Macbeth) and the many battlefield sites such as Culloden ( just 30 mins away.) We are also happy to put an itinerary together for you so you can get the best from your visit - so if its history, the great outdoors or high octane adventure you are looking

Highland Bear Lodge is set in deep forest in Glen Urquhart so we have stags , red deer, red squirrels, foxes, badgers, stunning birds of prey and owls hooting in the garden. We also have bats in the belfry! which you can see flying in the twilight in the summer months.

There is a prize winning herd of Highland Cattle in the field at the bottom of our drive. Although we have yet to see the elusive Nessie we are convinced there is something BIG in Loch Ness! You may not be lucky enough to see Nessie but a cruise on Loch Ness is a must.

Mark Dann is also the Chief Flying Instructor of Beyond Extreme - so why not try a tandem paragliding flight near Loch Ness. Mark has flown with Patrick Swayze on the film "Point Break" worked for the BBC, Channel 4 and Sky television and has done tandems for BBC's Matt Baker and Suzi Perry.
